Casa Gallardo: Your tongue will shout ‘olé!’
Jul 24, 2010
Forget run-of-the-mill tacos and boring burritos. At Casa Gallardo Mexican Restaurant, you can dive into aromatic shrimp dishes, house-made tortilla soups and a chunky guacamole prepared right at your table — food that’s sure to get your mouth watering as soon as you step inside.
Casa Gallardo is well-known for its exquisite sizzling fajitas. You can choose from steak marinated in chipotle chiles and garlic ($13.39), chicken marinated in a citrus-chipotle mixture ($12.29), shrimp sautéed in jalapeño-garlic butter ($13.89), both chicken and steak ($13.39) or — if you really can’t make up your mind — the Fajitas Supremas, steak, chicken and shrimp sautéed in jalapeño-garlic butter ($14.39). The fajitas come with refried beans, rice, Monterrey Jack cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, warm tortillas and a petite sweet corn cake.
You can also get other delicacies you might not at other Mexican restaurants, such as Carne Asada, steak rubbed with mild chile de arbol adobo then grilled and topped with a cheese enchilada and a fresh tomato-jalapeño sauce ($14.29). This and other dinners come accompanied by rice, beans, warm tortillas and a sweet corn cake. Naturally, Casa Gallardo has tacos (steak, chicken or roasted pork), burritos, enchiladas and chimichangas on its menu (see here and here) for the purists. The Mexican restaurant also has some interesting — and inexpensively priced —Combinations on its menu. You can see more of Casa Gallardo’s menu by clicking the Menu tab on the restaurant’s website.
Those who don’t want regular Mexican fare can get a grilled chicken breast sandwich with seasoned French fries and a honey-mustard dip ($7.79 at lunch and $8.49 at dinner).
Casa Gallardo serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a menu where every item is priced at $9.49 or less. You can get lunch portions of all of the favorites: Fajitas Supremas ($9.49), chicken fajitas ($8.29) and more. Check out the lunch menu here.
